While learning a new language, the students in my class are also establishing the academic foundations that will fuel their education career. However, the majority of households I serve make less than $25,000 per year. Despite their socioeconomic disadvantages, the children and community I teach in are ecstatic about education. Everyday, a different, enthusiastic scholar tells me, "Miss Farrar, I love my school!" or "Miss Farrar, I love my class!" The students I teach are truly a blessing, as I have never met children more energized about learning and empathetic to others than the students I have in my classroom this year.
