Sean Slade said, "The ability to communicate effectively and skillfully is fundamental to students' development". In our English Language Learning classroom, I would love to encourage communication in a safe and comfortable environment. Having different spaces where students can be free to express their ideas and thoughts, and take charge of their learning is greatly beneficial to improving their language skills. My project in my classroom is to improve communication between peers in the English language. Yoga seats, wiggle seats, crate seats, and lap desks will be beneficial in helping students focus more on tasks and collaborate with one another. These items will improve the student engagement while learning the language and Common Core State Standards. This project will allow me to enhance their motivation and ability to be successful in their academic and personal goals.
