To create a student-centered learning environment, students will rotate through technology stations with coding and robotics rather than spend 45 minutes keyboarding or creating presentations in computer lab. The materials requested in this project meet the needs of all learners in kindergarten through 6th grade. Kindergarten, first, and second grade students will use the Learning Resources Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Set to program a mouse to find cheese in an maze with obstacles by creating a sequence of steps for the mouse to follow. Concrete coding experience is essential for students to have before using web-based coding software such as Scratch. Students in third through sixth grade will use six different apps to program Wonder Workshop's robots named Dash & Dot. The Wonder Pack includes 2 robots (Dash & Dot), 4 building brick connectors, 2 charging cords, 1 tow hook, 1 bulldozer bar, 1 launcher and 3 launcher balls, 6 target stickers, 2 bunny ears, 1 bunny tail, and 1 Xylophone. Students will use Wonder Workshop apps to design codes for Dash & Dot robots and use the accessories as a solution to a real world problem. Donations to this project will allow students to design solutions to real problems using a robot and complete in the 2018 Wonder League Robotics Competition.
