We are a Title 1 charter high school within the Atlanta Public School system. I specifically teach AP Human Geography, and a combined course we call "GAGA", which stands for Geography, Art, and Global Awareness. Our school is relatively small, but serves as a node of transformation for the East Lake Neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. Along with Purpose Built Communities and the East Lake Foundation, our school has been working for 15 years towards its goal of revitalizing our community. It was not 20 years ago that our community was seen as a troubled neighborhood by the City of Atlanta, but our school has been a strong reason for improvements.
