Literacy is the focus of this school year. Our primary goal is for our students to obtain higher academic levels by becoming stronger readers. In order to do this, we need books that are at a more appropriate level while still being engaging and inspiring to encourage growth. As you know, our school does not have a library. Each teacher is responsible for building and maintaining their own classroom library. Reading is fundamental to social studies. In order to address this, I have added both historical and fiction books in order to encourage students to read. I also want to promote geographical skills so maps and a globe are very much needed.

About my class
