I am requesting classroom items that are considered basic essentials to my Math Rocks "start up kit." This start up kit has components that will cater to the WHOLE child. The dry erase boards, markers, erasers, pencils, and math games are all tools that will help to cater to the cognitive development of my students as they collaborate in class and strengthen their abilities. The games and real world math activity sets are to offer enrichment and differentiation in an engaging manner. Inflatable chairs and learning charts will be placed in workshop stations around the room to create a more comfortable and appealing learning environment. Kleenex, Clorox Wipes, and gloves will allow me to keep the spread of germs down, which will ensure scholars are not missing school due to seasonal sicknesses. My scholars have a strong desire to excel in math; however, to do so they need basic materials to assist them in their successes. Our society is ever changing which means best practices and supplies necessary to offer the most conducive experiences are also ever changing. The requested materials will allow me to offer my students a more leveled playing field to succeed just as their affluent counterparts, as I will be able to differentiate the learning that takes place while doing so in an inviting and comfortable environment.
