The Greenville Zoo has called and they need to design better habitats for their animals that reflect their natural habitats. They are in the process of making extreme renovations and we hope the futuristic, innovative ideas we propose will be considered in the changes! Students will become zoologists as they research and study animals in their natural habitats and learn how to best meet their needs in a zoo. Students will choose one animal from the zoo to investigate. The students will select non-fiction text and research online resources to learn the new information. Afterwards, the students will be ready to create the River Ridge Zoo! Our class will create a large display showcasing their innovative ideas for the zoo. The students will team up with high school students from an engineering class called “Project Lead the Way” so they will be able to create and print a transportation system for the animals. Each student will also be responsible for creating a digital sign to inform visitors about their chosen zoo animal.
