My classroom is a safe space for all of my students. As an English as a New Language Teacher I strive to make my classroom a welcoming and accessible environment for all my students no matter what language they speak. I cover my walls with vocabulary and picture labels in Arabic, Spanish, English and French Creole. All of my students come into my classroom wanting to learn English so they can participate in their own classrooms with their English speaking peers. Many of my students do not have English language support at home, as well as, do not have access to books written in English. So the time that they spend in my classroom is spent immersed in the English language. With help from donors I know I can provide my students with a language rich classroom that will allow to master the English language.
