The scholars entering my kindergarten class are 5 and 6 years old. For most of these scholars, it is their first formal school setting. My scholars attend an inner city elementary school in a large urban school district. The district is currently struggling with funding and many programs, activities and supplies are being cut back. Even with these cutbacks it is uplifting to see the scholars still eager to learn.
