Welcome to Wellstone International High! It is a public high school dedicated exclusively to educating refugees with limited or no formal schooling. If you visit, you will hear "welcome" in at least four languages. Our motivated, enthusiastic students come from from war-torn, politically troubled or economically struggling countries around the world: Africa, Asia, Latin America, and other places. We have served many students from Somalia, Ethiopia, Liberia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Nepal, China, Bhutan, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and many more. Many students have never learned to read, even in their own language. Others have limited literacy. Despite those challenges, they are motivated to learn, and work hard in and outside of school.
