I teach in a location where 99% of my students are on a free or reduced lunch. On top of struggling financially, many of my students do not have a support system at home. At school, I am their family, and our school culture is the same. We take pride in our kids and motivate them to be better. We support our kids and acknowledge that although their home life may not be the best, you never let your situation define who you are. My kids have passion. My kids have hope. My kids have a future.
