Many children that I teach come from diverse backgrounds. Most are from homes where they are afraid their lights will be turned off at the end of the month and they will be forced to move. Classroom supplies for a child are the last thing these parents are thinking about. I want to eliminate the embarrassment and have every tool a child needs to feel successful. Many times my parents feel a sense of embarrassment as well because they are unable to get their child's supplies. It's a choice to pay the rent and groceries or buy school supplies. My mission is to make a leveled field and ease their minds as well as a child's. It is such a wonderful feeling to enter my room and have a supply box personalized just for "you" in my room. I give each child in need their folders, crayons, markers, pencils, erasers, and composition books. The faces of my parents are filled with pure joy. The child feels like its Christmas!! Please help me help my children by supporting my Donors Choose project. The children of my elementary school need "our " support. I can't afford to do this on my own. Your help is appreciated! Thank you in advance.
