As a math teacher, I do not just value reinforcing my students' math knowledge and skills; rather, I have consistently emphasized the choices afforded to them from having a strong mathematical background. In working with underprivileged communities, I have worked with my students to facilitate an instructional experience and provide resources that have resulted in making significant gains, at least 1.5 years of growth, consistently every year.
