The white lab coats will make a difference because my students will be excited and feel like chemist. The lab coat will also protect their clothing from a common lab hazard, accidental spill, flying bodily fluids, etc. They will need gloves to protect their hands from infection and contamination. In addition to safety eyeware or googles to protect the area surrounding the eye in order to prevent particulates, water or chemicals from striking their eyes during an experiment. Lab materials will be essential to have which includes: beakers, graduated cylinders, a balance to measure mass, thermometer, cleaning supplies, etc. I know having all of the following materials will help engage my students to want to learn and do their work.
