I teach a very special group of seven kiddos who all have Autism. They are in grades 1st through 5th. They are some of the funniest, most creative, Loving, and interesting students I have ever had, but are impacted by their Autism either socially, academically, or both. The goal in our classroom is to learn, love, and be integrated into the general education classroom. All of my students thrive on routine, structure, and comfort. Along with social skills, we focus on academics and learning to deal with challenges that may come our way on a daily basis. Our ultimate goal is to have our students gain as much independence as possible and have the same opportunities as their peers.
