Our school serves 75% Asian, 15% Hispanic, 10% African-American, 21% Special Education and 45% English Language Learners. Many of our students come from difficult home environments, and parents work a minimum of 14-16 hours a day. Despite the challenges, smart and dedicated educators create a warm and nurturing learning environment for our students to thrive and succeed. My dance students are the best students a teacher can ever ask for. They are hard working, respectful, kind, care about community service, and strive to do their very best. Most students enter the program without prior training, but with diligence, and a strong curriculum our students develop as artists due to their exposure to ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary dance, dance history and choreography. They are also taught leadership and professionalism.
