The AP Spanish Language and Culture exam combines written sections as well as listening and speaking sections. The listening and speaking sections are worth 50% of their exam score. Digital voice recorders will be used weekly to practice all aspects of the speaking portions of the exam. One of the most challenging parts of the exam (and one that is practiced continuously) is the simulated conversation. Students have to participate in a dialogue in which they listen and respond. They must record their answers as they listen- digital voice recorders are easy to use, they do not pick up background noise, and recordings are easily downloaded for grading purposes.
