Give students more ownership over their writing! This project will greatly improve our classroom writing time by giving students better tools to organize their writing and work flexibly in our classroom! The teal caddies will be used to store our writing folders, alphabet charts, pens, and other tools used for writing time. Revamping our organization system will give students more ownership of their writing, and will make our transitions into writing time much more efficient! I can't wait to bring more clipboards into our classroom! They are a favorite tool for my 2nd graders, but right now we are sharing 6 among 17 students. Clipboards will give all of my students the flexibility to write and work in different spots around the classroom. Many students do their best writing on our classroom carpet or near the window. Having more clipboards will allow students to spread out and pick a spot where they feel most inspired to write or work! In addition, many of my students don't have a designated spot for school work at home. Sending home clipboards will no doubt make homework time easier on students and their families.
