I work in New Mexico where my school is defined as a Title 1 school. The school is in a low-income neighborhood and 100% of students receive free or reduced price lunch. My students, in particular, are English language learners, thus giving them an extra struggle in my classroom to not only succeed academically, but in a foreign language to them. However, this never dampens their spirits. They come to school with smiles on their faces, eager to learn. They are excited to learn about the world and explore new interests within our classroom walls.
