These libraries will be used for guided reading. I mentioned some students are having their first experience of being around other children in my classroom. For some students, my classroom is also the first place where they are hearing English spoken all day. These books will help students identify emotions -- the first step in coping with them! -- and will help Spanish speakers more easily bridge to English with what they already know about their first language. Print concepts, vocabulary, and social skills will all improve with these books.
