I am a reading intervention teacher and I have the privilege of teaching 30 amazing students in grades 1st-6th! These students come to me for intensive reading instruction to supplement their classroom learning. Many of my students are 2-3 years behind their grade level in reading. The majority of my students are second language learners and have little support at home for their growing literacy. They have the difficult task of learning to read and write while acquiring a new language at the same time. Providing positive learning experiences in a supportive environment is the key to helping students see the value of education and getting them to work hard despite any obstacles that are before them. I hope you will partner with me to provide my students with tools that will assist them in becoming proficient readers and set them down the path of becoming lifelong learners.
