Last year I had an opportunity to make use of some funding allocated by my music department to purchase 12 digital keyboards for my students. I am planning to teach two groups of 12 students each. However, in order to reach out to more students in the future, these keyboards need to stay in good shape for in-school use only. With an additional 12 keyboards, students at least can take turns to bring one home to practice every other week. Home practice is crucial in building discipline and skills. It can help students retain, relearn, and make progress from the lessons taught in class. Although this is only a one-year program, I am confident that my students will be greatly benefited from it.
