Science and math standards for early childhood focus on exploration, problem solving, analysis and drawing conclusions. Inquiry and experiences using hands-on materials promote higher level thinking, and curiosity. With the addition of a light table and building manipulatives, my students will continue to learn through purposeful play activities and interactions with their peers. Not only will these materials support the Early Childhood Science and Math Standards, they will also support Social Emotional and Language and Literacy Standards. When the students are able to explore and build together, they learn how to interact positively with each other, and build expressive language and communication skills.

About my class
