Sitting in a chair in an L shaped position for prolonged periods of time puts our bodies to rest--and students are no different! My class is in definite need of different ways to stay focused to learn each day. Giving students options to be comfortable the way they learn best with flexible seating options will create longer spans of engagement and more productive lessons in my class! With these items, I will be able to offer my students changing options to allow for movement and comfort to learn however they feel best. I currently have 3 students who are usually standing, and two who work twisted in their chairs. Others fidget with small things or choose to work on the floor rather than at their desks. Right now I use a few seating options, but with help I could offer so many more that will change with activity and change the options to keep the experience fresh and productive!
