StoryWalk® is a fun, active and creative way to get kids moving and reading at the same time. Easy to read pages from large-sized children's books will be laminated and attached to corrugated plastic boards in metal frames. Questions and connections will be added next to each page to encourage creativity and critical thinking. The pages will be posted around the perimeter of a section of our playground, providing a path for readers to follow. Unfortunately, the playground equipment is currently off limits due to Covid-19, so the StoryWalk® will add a much needed activity while students are outside on the play area. After school hours, the StoryWalk® will continue to provide literacy enrichment and fun for families that use the play area in the evening. We will change the stories every 5-6 weeks, providing new opportunities for students and their families to enjoy reading together.
