A Mac Mini computer will be used to better help my students learn from home and to assist teaching in the classroom. Recently, my school has transitioned into a hybrid program because of the pandemic. This means that teachers are back in the classroom but are still teaching virtually every other day. When teachers came back to the campus, we noticed that the computers that have been provided to us are outdated and are unable to run the multiple programs we need in order to successfully teach our classes virtually. With this computer, students will be able to learn from home with fewer technical issues. Students will be able to collaborate on Zoom, Desmos, and Jamboard in my class on mathematical topics. Most importantly my students will have a stress-free environment, clear of technical difficulties when learning from home. When students return to class full time, they will be able to utilize this machine to collaborate on plenty of projects. My students are part of the Creative Arts Academy in which they take classes such as film and graphic design. We work closely with those classes to complete projects. With this computer, students will be able to make mathematical visualizations, code in languages such as R or Python, and make PowerPoint presentations for their projects.
