My students will acquire the majority of their learning through project based lessons and a flexible classroom environment will help support my goal. My students are noticeably more engaged when they are given the freedom to work in area they are most comfortable in. The flexible seating and materials caddies will allow the students to easily access the materials they need to work collaboratively. Collaboration is key to fostering language acquisition skills and a flexible classroom environment will provide a space for students thrive academically and socially. The stools are lightweight and can be easily moved by a student anywhere in the classroom. The pillows can be used to lay on our rug or used on our classroom couch. To support the whole child, the bean bag will be placed in our Peace Area which provides a safe space for students to take a break when they are feeling overwhelmed or just need a few minutes to themselves. The sensory tools will also be placed in the Peace Area as an additional resource for my students.
