My school is 100% free lunch. While the students lack money at home, there is respect for education and learning. Many of the students in 8th grade have achieved a higher grade level than their parents had in Mexico. The students at my school are respectful, hard working, and dedicated to their studies. I teach in the heart of Chicago. My colleagues are dedicated to helping these students achieve their best. Some of the students are below grade level in math. I will be running an after school class for them to help get them up to where they will succeed in high school next year. I'm hoping that through the gift of flash cards will help me to achieve this goal.
