Students at the Kindergarten level are usually moving throughout the day to the carpet, centers, etc. With the pandemic, students are unable to sit close to another student. This has resulted in carpet time being removed from the day, centers being done individually if and when possible, and students remaining at a desk all day. I would like to provide a floor table option for some of my special needs students to have the choice to move to when needed. I would also like to provide all my students with soft seats. The soft seats could be used next to their desk with a clipboard. This would provide everyone an alternative seat from the desk. The seats could also be moved close to the teacher to form a small group for extra support. The teacher could carefully place the cushions 6 feet apart for the child to sit on. When this is done with out the soft seats, students tend to keep getting close to each other.
