The materials being requested are to decorate the classroom and the infuser with essential oils is to help students relax and release stress. Mathematics tends to be a subject that where many students get anxious and I want to use these decorations and infuser to recreate in their mind an environment of math being fun. For example the "You Can Toucan" decorations are to encourage a growth mindset. The beachballs are to have at the tables and bring the idea of fun into the class. The surfboards, flip flop, Hawaiian and beach decorations are also to creating the idea of being at the beach a place where there is lots of fun. The motivational posters are to support the social emotional part of learning; and them being able to cope with their traumas and anxiety with the beliefs and affirmations to do great in life. The "Keep Calm and show your work!" Poster is to remind them to breathe and everything will be ok as they are working through their assignments. Inspire notebook is to keep a journal of students where they can express ideas that can support them in their learning.
