My classroom is a science haven! We learn through hands-on activities, classroom discussions, and of course a little STAAR practice. We have plants and animals galore! In fact, some of my colleagues refer to my room as the zoo. We have a hedgehog named Deeter, 2 anole lizards named like Jelly and Stubby (who is a 3 legged rescue), 2 tree frogs, and an aquarium full of guppies. We learn about adaptations of all kinds (inherited traits, learned behaviors, climate change...) with our pets. Everyday is an adventure and usually a challenge, but I am never bored and wouldn't change it for a million dollars!
