Having never picked up a pencil before entering my classroom, most of my students have never experienced the joy of creating. With these supplies I would be able to encourage not only creativity but independence in their work. My students need to be able to expand their thinking beyond mathematics, English, and more English. My goal is to incorporate the use of art throughout lessons in writing, math, and reading. Through the use of literature my students will be able to create meaningful pieces of art that will allow them to make real solid connections to the stories we are reading in class.
