This project is a "mish-mash" of many different items to help our classroom become OUR space, OUR room. The markers, stools, and organizer cart are there to help the room be more organized and neat. The markers will specifically be used for students to write their names on their desks, making their space their own. The stools will be perfect for small groups at our kidney table and help give them a flexible seating option. The organizer cart is to help students decrease clutter in our room and know where to place all the various papers that make their way home and back to school.
These books such as Snow Day! and The Sandwich Shop, will help to create the classroom culture of the room by providing students with a read aloud that focus on kindness and learning to empathize with others. The books included are ones that have been specifically picked for literary activities and small group strategies, but their main purpose is for beginning of the year whole-class read alouds. My hope is to use these books to spark interesting conversations between students and to encourage students to remember to see not just with their own eyes, but to also consider how others are feeling and thinking.
