Students in my classroom currently sit at mismatched desks. Some are taller than others, they have different sized tops and different storage configurations. This mashup is not only unappealing to look at, but pushing these desks together to create collaborative groups is nearly impossible! Trapezoid tables are excellent for creating flexible collaborative learning groups. When we are able to quickly and easily move our desks into learning groups, students can get to the business of learning faster. Collaboration in the classroom encourages my students to work together, hold each other accountable, and engage in meaningful academic dialog where all students have an equal opportunity to learn.
