Because they align so well with our PBIS program—which emphasizes being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind—students are drawn to them during independent reading time. Each book teaches an important character lesson in a fun, approachable way, and it's exciting to see students making those connections on their own.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading often looks like students tucked into cozy spots around the room, deeply engaged in their books. Many of them reach for the Ninja series again and again, and I've noticed that even reluctant readers are eager to pick them up. Afterward, they'll often share with me or with a classmate what they learned from the Ninja character—whether it's how to be responsible for their belongings or how to show kindness to a friend.\r\n\r\nThese books are helping my students practice important reading skills—like fluency, comprehension, and making connections—while also reinforcing the core values we strive for every day in our classroom. They've become a meaningful and motivating part of our independent reading routine.","fullyFundedDate":1741373438087,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-with-ninja-themed-bo/8963662/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students with Ninja-Themed Books for Character Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibbens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8638022_orig.jpg?crop=768,768,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661035014953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8638022"},{"teacherId":8362794,"projectId":8852714,"letterContent":"Our AZ Math State Standard is to learn strategies to understand the concept of multiplication.
