The dry erase boards will be used on a daily basis during math, phonics, writer's workshop, and guided reading. Having a variety of tools gets children excited for learning and keeps their attention. These tools will be used whole group, small group, and also individually during seat time. During phonics, children will come to the carpet and use these dry erase boards on their laps to manipulate magnetic letters. Underneath the magnetic letters, they will use dry erase markers or chalk to practice the words they made. This repetition trains instant recall of high frequency words. Phonics is only a portion of our day, but these tools will be utilized for many domains all day long.
