My students attend a public school in the NYC area. it is a wonderful school that values them regardless of their disabilities. They all love to learn and want so much to communicate with their peers. Some do not have the ability to speak and others need a lot of help attending in order to learn. The older students learn best with materials that can break down a task into very small steps, so they build their understanding slowly. My students have a variety of disabilities, but they can often use their individual strengths to help each other.
