I know that a print-rich classroom filled with appropriate books offers access to appropriate and individualized reading instruction. Most of my students have little to no concept of print, but they love to look at pictures and be read to. Read aloud time is a special time in my class as this gives them a peek to the wonderful world of print, stories and new discoveries! I know that if my students will read daily, both in and out of school, they will be able to make more sense of their environment. The more my students read, the better their vocabulary, their ability to read, and their knowledge of the world. Giving my students the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of reading materials in their favorite genres and topics at their reading level will surely develop their wonder and joy for reading. "A READER today, a LEADER tomorrow!"
