After 15 years teaching elementary school, I am teaching Kindergarten for the first time this year. I am honored to have the opportunity to set the foundation for the rest of my students' educational careers and I do not take this responsibility lightly. My students are bright, enthusiastic, tolerant, and inquisitive. They amaze me every day with their sweet spirits, intelligence, and determination, which prevail even though many of them face significant hardships in their lives outside school.
