As an educator, I believe that every student can reach their highest potential. I have learned that pretty bulletin boards, coordinating stationary, or even the best stickers are not the keys to success for my students. Instead, I strive to tap into each student's individual strengths and help them find success with their challenges. This involves creating an environment where all students can be successful. At the start of each school year this begins with creating a strong sense of community that we build on throughout the year. This includes celebrating our differences, understanding who we are as learners, and finding the resources that help us learn best. It also means that we spend a lot of time reflecting on our learning, what obstacles we face each day and how to overcome those challenges. We set goals and intentions, utilize growth mindset phrases, and support one another each day as we all take risks.
