I am a 5th/6th Gifted and Talented Math Teacher and work in a Title 1 district. Our students are hand selected from every elementary school within the district through a variety of multiple measures; teacher recommendations, data analysis from prior school years, performance-based assessments, student applications including a written essay, and student interviews. Our students are very hard working, innovative, and determined to be a part of our program and go above and beyond the "normal" classroom requirements and expectations. The G&T teachers are dedicated to enriching their learning environment and curriculum by any means possible to make sure they are given brighter opportunities to support their growth.
