Chair bands and floor cushions will help my students stay in their designated areas and stay engaged in a COVID-19 safety structured classroom. Students cannot move like they used to so it’s important to give kids with learning disabilities tools to self-regulate and self-manage. Also, my room has so many spaces that are bare and distract the students. These spots need to be transformed into a space that can be written on, and covered with a dark background so bright and colorful student work can be displayed. The contrast would help my students with visual impairments and grab attention, and the ability to write in it will let my students write a description of their work next to it. I think this will motivate them to do their best work and show it off while increasing their writing skills.
