My beginning band students started playing their instruments in September of this year. Adding an electric bass to the instruments that we already have in band class will open doors for my students to experience and create in genres like jazz, Latin, blues, and rock. I am eager to share my love of jazz with them, and we hope to start a traditional jazz band class in the spring! We will offer the bass to all students who want to learn it. The students who successfully learn to play the bass will potentially play it all the way through their high school years and beyond!
