Diversity is a beautiful topic that is not celebrated enough in our schools. One way to honor the individuality of each child is by providing quality literature in our classrooms. It is important to introduce our students to diverse topics and allow them to explore this through informational and literary texts. Having a library full of authors and texts that mirror my students, their backgrounds, and their interests, is a wonderful way to welcome them and make them feel valued in our classroom. I want every student that walks into my room to feel comfortable and proud of their differences while also learning about others as well. When you donate to this project, you will provide students with a multitude of engaging and educational book titles relating to diverse topics! It is our responsibility to give children the opportunity to read books that were written by diverse authors, where characters may look like them and may experience similar things that they have.
