The materials will provide a flexible seating environment for my students. Flexible seating is beneficial for students with Autism because many students cant sit in traditional school desks or chairs. It will also help with their organizational skills. Many students with Autism lack organizational skills. The chair pockets will store their folders and supplies so that it is easier for them to stay organized. Finally, it will support our school-wide initiative of supporting our house system with house specific colors. We have four houses with four different colors. Our house system is based on the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta.
