My class is a fabulous and dedicated group of beginning level English Language Learners. There is a mix of US citizens, non-citizens, refugees, East Africans, and Nepali students. Some students have been in the United States for 1-2 years, and have basic conversational English and some have just arrived! The students and I work together each day to develop both social and academic English skills so that they can be successful in their mainstream content classes. We practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English every day. We tackle big questions like, how does our language affect others and what matters most?
