The use of chapter books can build reading stamina in the classroom. Students build fluency as on a daily basis, by reading chapter books. As we read the chapters of the the chapter books, we participate in innovative and creative ideas that motivate and encourage the love of reading. Collaboration, thoughts, and ideas recorded become personalized as students represent what was read in a final product. Listening to reading with ear buds on audio is another way to stimulate the love of reading. Students learn how to enunciate words. Reading becomes colorful when they create or design a product that expresses knowledge of understanding from the reading. Notes and words of expression will be shared and posted on dry erase paper and dry erase tape around the classroom and classroom library.
