My students are in 7th grade middle school life science in Corona, CA. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds, many walk or ride the bus to school everyday. We are a Title 1 school, with many students coming from socioeconomically challenging backgrounds. Middle school is a challenging time for many students, as it is a transition to high school and can be a big change for many students. I have taught for almost twenty years, both as a high school science and middle school science teacher and I love what I do and try to provide a safe space for my students to learn. I want them to develop a passion for the world around them and be interested in the many scientific careers that are out there.
