My 6th grade students range from ages 10-12. They are eager learners that love hands-on activities and using technology. My student face many challenges; Poverty, violence and drugs encompass most of their everyday lives. I strive to highlight their good efforts and achievements to encourage them to continue to strive and rise above these challenges. My greatest endeavor is in creating a classroom climate and culture where students move from novice to deeper, conceptual learners that can revise and improve their thinking and monitor their own learning progress and at the same time FUN! .
