Our school's motto is, "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."-Fred DeVito. In kindergarten, we meet challenges daily. Learning to read and write are two of those challenges. It can be a mind-boggling experience to learn that letters are not just pictures, but actually symbols for sounds and that those sounds are how we build words to read and write. It is so very exciting to teach my little learners how to meet these challenges. It is such a great moment to see a first-time reader realize they have met the daunting challenge of reading and are now changed for life! Alive Studios has developed a program using augmented reality to help meet that very challenge. The Letters Alive Plus kit uses a cross-curriculum approach to fully engage students while simultaneously teaching multiple content areas. The kit includes all the essential materials: software, user license, Ipevo USB camera, posters, cards, storage boxes, and more. The incredible technology of Letters Alive Plus will bring learning alive and provide increased literacy this year and many years to come!
